Studying through textbooks does not really teach me Japanese culture and norms of what to say. So I was wondering where to learn how cultural taboos in what people say. For example, not being too direct is a norm that differs from the west but I came across this fact randomly and not through my studying and conversations with others. I might be missing a whole lot of norms, or people are not correcting me when I have conversing with a japanese speaker. Where and how can I learn these norms?

Also, where can I ask small questions about japanese? I come across a bunch of sentences in which I do not know why something was said that way, and was wondering if there was a place I can post the example and receive clarification. I feel like the questions are too small for here and my questions are often spontaneous.
