I am booking a flight for a family member coming from upstate NY. The schedule is very flexible, sometime in oct/November and \~12 days. There options are out of Syracuse or Rochester, NY. I have a friend who goes to japan 4-5x a year out Rochester, and says he’s never payed more than 1200$ for a flight from Rochester to Tokyo. So when i started planning this trip for my family member i told them it would be around 1200$.
Now i’m looking to book, and no matter how i move things around, or look at different airports like Osaka, i cant get the flight under 1800$ for a 12 day trip. Ive googled around and i dont think mid-late october is a holiday. Is this just a matter of waiting, and i’m trying to book too early? or am i missing something and theres a major Japanese travel date in October?
