  1. How was it? After all these years, I still haven’t ever braved natto (or durian for that matter).

  2. Natto eating tip: After pouring in the dashing and mustard you wanna mix it up in the carton real good so the natto gets really frothy and sticky. Mix in a raw egg if you’re feeling brave. Also garnish with green onions

  3. I’ve had durian b4 and it tasted like hot doodoo garbage? I’m curious about natto tho? How did it taste?

  4. Tips from my japanese friend for eating natto, stir it a couple of times before adding the dashi and mustard so it can spread evenly.

  5. Adding to the tip comments!

To remove the plastic film over the natto, hold a corner of the film, firmly shut the container lid again and pull it out as quickly as possible. Less mess than peeling it off normally.

  6. Anyone that likes smelly cheese usually love the hell out of natto. I am one of them, and I enjoy that sliminess. Shiiiiit man I can kind of smell it now gosh darnit.

Once you get over the funkiness there’s a real nice smoky flavor to it.

  7. I saw a dude on youtube try mixing a raw egg with his natto in Japan….yeah he wanted to puke so bad lol. It’s been a hit or miss for him

  8. Here’s a tip to make it taste good: stir the natto clockwise 51 times, then counter clockwise 15 times, and then finally clockwise again 51 times. This takes probably less time than you think and it changes the flavor.
