Clarification: I have several bank accounts, and I want to know if there is a reason to keep them, or if not, which one to keep over the other. I am not asking which bank I should apply to.
So I needed a bank account quick by end of month because I needed a tsucho or card with a chip and didn’t have it for my Shinsei Bank.
I went to UFMG but it was impossible to get an account that same day, so I made a reservation for the next week, but that is too late for my needs so I went to Post Office and made an account. Before I made it I told the woman that I need the tsucho quickly that day so she even hurried to make the account for me. Then after an hour and half, she has the account made and says “Ok your tsucho will come in the mail next week”. Duuohh!
So I went to the nearest bank, which was Nagoya Bank. I made an account and got the tsucho and finished the business I needed the tsucho for just in time.
I don’t think there is any particular official problem such as too many bank accounts, but I did not intend to have a bunch, and just to keep things simple, I would like to have fewer. Now my question is if there is any benefit for Nagoya Bank, Post Office, or UFMG over the others.
My main bank that I have used for years as my only bank is Shinsei. I will keep that as my main account. I only need a different one for payments to one particular place. Currently that is Nagoya Bank, because that is where I got the tsucho first.
Is there a reason I should consider going to my UFMG appointment and making it there just because I have started the process and switch my to that for my bill payment? Or any reason to keep Post Office account? Or rather any reason to cancel it if I don’t intend to use it now?
