Hey all,
I’m travelling to Japan for the first time. I’m nervous. I’m going alone! It is scary and exciting! I knew about Golden Week, but I didn’t check which days it is, so I will be unfortunately visiting during that holiday. My anxiety is a bit high about it! I don’t generally *like* crowds, but I handle them fine.
Dates: April 29-May 8
April 29th, land around 4:30PM.
* Deal with airport stuff. Get a sim card, Suika card, I’m passing on the JR Pass for this trip since my trip is short and I’m not travelling too much. Literally just going to check into the hotel, eat some food, and relax.
April 30th, travel to Osaka.
* I decided to spend 4 days in Osaka. SPA WORLD looks like a nice place, so that’s where I’m going. 🙂 Check out Shin Sekai, do some shopping, wander aimlessly.
May 1st, OSAKA
* I want to check out Den-Den, Amerika-Mura, UpGarage, and if I have time in the day I’ll check out Osaka castle and Umeda. Might be pushing too much into one day, but I might do some of these things the day before.
May 2nd, OSAKA
* This is a day to do anything from May 1st that I didn’t have time for, or want to investigate further.
May 3rd, Osaka-Kyoto-Nara
* I want to get up really early and go to the Bamboo Forest in Kyoto. It looks like a nice hike, hopefully get there at like 8AM. I’m not too interested in Kyoto overall, I’ll maybe check out Ginkaku-ji and the Nintendo Store. Probably go to Nara after this, and check out the friendly deer. This is my Nature Day. Back to Osaka… Find some night-life, or relax at SPA WORLD.
May 4th, Osaka-Tokyo
* I want to head back to Tokyo on May 4th. I’m planning on staying near Ikebukuro due to hotel prices, but I’ll basically just check into the hotel and then travel to Shibuya. Check out Yoyogi Park, Shibuya scramble, Tower Records, and anything else interesting. I’ve planned to spend basically the whole day there. I might try to book that Daikoku Car Meet excursion.
May 5th, Tokyo
* The only things I have planned are to check out Akiba, and I’d like to check out Shinjuku.
May 6th, Tokyo-Motegi
* This day is special to me. I am getting my IDP so I can rent a car and drive to the Honda Collection Hall. JB Car Rental seems like the best place to rent from. I am dedicating an entire day to this excursion. I am a huge Honda fan, and a big fan of cars and racing. This is also my birthday. 😀 I’ll spend the day here, and head back to Tokyo at some point.
May 7th, Tokyo
* I have nothing planned!!! There are a few places I would like to see, like Jiyugaoka, Mount Takao, the Gundam Factory, Kaminarimon, just trying to figure that part out….
May 8th, Tokyo-Home
* Flight leaves at 6:30PM, so I won’t have time for too much. This might be a good day to check out Kaminarimon for some last minute souvenirs?
That is my rough plan so far. I would love some feedback.
