Do a freelance in Japan?

Hello, I have a question about working as a freelancer in Japan. Currently, I’m employed as a full-time game programmer with an annual income of 4,000,000 yen. A colleague who works for a third-party company has offered me a position to join them as a freelancer, promising an annual income of 8,400,000 yen. Since this would be my first time venturing into freelancing, I’m seeking advice to fully understand the pros and cons.

I’m aware of the tax and insurance implications, but I’m curious about other aspects such as obtaining loans. For instance, would I be able to secure a loan if I decide to buy a house? Does anyone have experience with this?

Additionally, what about paid leave? How does that work for freelancers in Japan?

Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
