Hi all, I am planning on a 1 week or 2 week road trip this late March-April around Mt Fuji, Kawaguchiko, heading up towards Takada Castle.
My very rough outline is:
– Pick up car in Shimoyoshida
– Arakurayama Sengen Park, Sightseeing around Lake Kawaguchi
– Lake Saiko , Kachi Kachi Ropeway / Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
– Minami-Alps, Yamanashi
– Takatō Castle Ruins
(or Yatsugatake Mountains / Yatsugatake Resort Outlet )
– Shirakaba Lake / Venus Line
– Takada Castle Site Park
I was seeing if anyone has done this road trip (or any road trips in general) suggest any comments on this, for example where to rent, how to plan days, drives, and any hints and tips in general.
This will be my third trip to Japan but first time not using public transport, so it’s a little overwhelming having so many options to stop over at, and being in a relatively unexplored area by foreign tourists. We are coming from a left hand side driving country (Australia) and speak some basic Japanese (JLPT N5) so hopefully that will help.
