Hello hello! My husband and I will be traveling to Japan for the first time next month on our honeymoon. Of all the places we are visiting, we are most excited to see Kyoto and want to be very intentional with our time there. The internet is bursting with recommendations for every city in Japan, but we’d really love to hear some of your personal dining/drinking recommendations for our stay in Kyoto.
We’ve already reserved a handful of high-end/expensive dinners over the course of our trip, so we’re looking for casual/reliable restaurants and bars where we won’t be spending a fortune or competing with other tourists for a table.
We’d be happy to hear all sorts of recommendations (restaurants, kissatens, izakayas), however we don’t yet have a solid place picked out for a ramen or udon meal during our trip, so that would be especially welcome!
We will be staying a few minutes from Gion Corner, but doesn’t need to be in that immediate area.
