Ski season working holiday
I plan on spending a year in japan starting with a ski season, but there are always conflicting opinions online – I am looking for someone with enthusiast knowledge to help me!
I have skied the majority of the Canadian rockies and understand the balance between hardcore terrain and accessibility of a busier resort. I plan on spending a season so I’m sure I will be able to travel to other mountains in some capacity.
I will be travelling alone so I need to be able to manage without any Japanese comprehension but I would like the most hardcore resort possible without sacrificing quality of life due to me being a foreigner that can’t speak the language.
Niseko sounds like a ton of fun but i’m worried it will be too busy and lack the terrain I’m looking for. That’s the main objective of this trip, the second objective would be to experience something relatively authentic to japan over the long term (entire season) vs a week holiday. I want to be able to make friends but I don’t want to go to little australia, I already use the C-word far too loosely! lol!
If any powder hounds out there can point me in the right direction I will make sacrifice in order to jump off as many rocks as possible while I am in japan!
Thanks guys
