Ebisu VS Kagurazaka VS Takadanobaba

Hi all,

I’ve done a lot of research but am hoping to get some input from those living in Tokyo on which area you think would be the best fit for me given my circumstances and preferences.

My partner (28F) and I (29M) work remote and are currently living in Kyoto. We will be moving to Tokyo in mid April and have found three seperate apartments that we really like in each of the areas listed. Because we are only staying in Tokyo for 6-8 months, it was very difficult finding furnished apartments for a reasonable price in areas that we felt like we would enjoy living in. So we’ve narrowed it down to Ebisu, Kagurazaka and Takadanobaba based on the apartments we found.

We are both very very social people and would like to be a very bustling area with lots of cafes, bars, restaurants, events and easy access to other areas of Tokyo. We will likely join a coworking space but cafes in the area that are remote worker friendly is a plus. I work at a start-up and an area that has networking events for start-ups would be cool (I did find one spot in Meguro near the Ebisu apt).

We like shopping in vintage clothing stores, walking through small, interesting streets, seeing live music, going to Izakayas, exploring parks and trying lots of different food and drinks.

Anyway please let me know if you have any reccomendations and I am happy to clarify anything if you’d like some more information.

Thanks!
