I still have great problems finding the right nuances of speech and choosing the correct form of formal/informal speech, pronouns etc. Maybe because I’m not living in Japan and am not exposed to such situations.
I wonder, are there YouTube channels that take different pieces of media and analyze/breakdown which speech patterns are used to convey different types of relationships or self representations.
Like, for example, I find it interesting to look at the self pronouns characters are using or what level of formal speech a character is using with different other characters.
Watching jdramas and anime with subtitles, these types of information are often lost.
Would love if someone has some recommendations here.
