I’m trying to transfer around $5k from my bank in America to JP Post and I was running into some difficulty. Of course I read [this page from JP post](https://www.jp-bank.japanpost.jp/en/djp/en_djp_index.html), but the variable fees, and this being my my first time transferring money internationally I was a bit confused. It seems other Japanese banks have the same system of intermediary banks, but I’ve also heard a lot of talk about Wise here.
I was wondering what your recommendation would be for the amount I’m trying to transfer. I’m also open to even opening up another bank like Sony if that would be better for receiving international transfers.
