1. Maybe there is some recency bias here, but I’m saying Okada vs. Ospreay in the G1.

2. Okada vs JONAH is up there for me. It was a really good match, but that finish and the Osaka crowd exploding into roaring cheers put it over the top. What a moment.

3. Both Okada vs Ospreay matches this year

4. Ospreay vs Okada from the finals followed by Ishimori vs Hiromu and Okada vs Naito from dontaku. Recency bias probably takes a part in this.

5. Okada vs Ospreay G1 final.

6. L.I.J vs. KONGOH from WrestleKingdom night 3. Just a ton of fun. Everyone had great chemistry. So many different stories in one match. Got the best of both feds in one match and I wish we got to see more.

7. We were so spoiled with great matches this year, it’s actually hard to pick. To me, it’s one of these:

   Shingo Takagi vs Tomohiro Ishii – New Japan Cup

   Zack Saber Jr. vs Will Ospreay – New Japan Cup

   Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Tomohiro Ishii – Wrestling Dontaku

   Shingo Takagi vs Will Ospreay – G1 Climax

   Hiroshi Tanahashi vs KENTA (No DQ) – Wrestle Kingdom

   Zack Saber Jr. vs KENTA – G1 Climax

   Kazuchika Okada vs Jay White – Dominion

   I really enjoyed the Naito vs Okada trilogy as well, but I think all of the above are better than any of their three matches this year so far.
