1.5 yo Shiba Inu for adoption – kansai

I have a 1.5yo Shiba Inu that I’m seeking to re-home. Fully toilet-trained (pees and poops outside only), vaccinations completed, neutered. Long-haired/woolly, red Shiba.

For the past year we’ve had him, he has been growling and attacking my 4yo kid periodically. He has bitten my kid on the head, the face, neck, back, feet, arms. We also have a 6-month-old baby whom the dog growled at the day the baby came home from the hospital. My baby is getting more mobile and I’m increasingly having to confine the dog to his crate because of his aggression. I’ve looked into putting him at a shelter, but the cost of that is ridiculously high (approx 300,000Â¥ fee upfront). The other option is to send him to the public animal centre, where he will, to my knowledge, be euthanized. If he attacks any one of my kids once more before I find him a home, I’m sending him to the public animal centre.

Before we decide either way I’m posting here just to see if anyone might be interested in adopting him. He’s great with adults, but has insane jealousy and territorial aggression towards kids inside the house. No separation anxiety and doesn’t mind being left alone for long hours (I’m a stay-at-home mom so I’m home pretty much all day anyway, but he chooses not to come out of his unlocked crate when the kids are around, which is almost all the time, because he prefers to guard his food bowl).

  1. Not sure what to say, we lost out little dachs last november after ~14yrs–she was great with kids.

I’m not sure what to offer except good luck, and I hope this gets solved soon. And, from what you say in connection to your 4 year old, you _clearly_ have more patience than I do.
