Advice for taxis in Naha

Wondering how convenient is it to get taxis in Naha/southern Okinawa island, and is Didi the recommended app? It’s listed on the official Okinawa travel guide website but the site seems to be outdated in other segments. Neither my companion nor I can drive so we’re relying on public transport (monorail, buses etc). Appreciate any advice!

  1. I used Uber in Naha this past April. Worked well for my needs (10 min rides). I didn’t learn about DiDi until later and I’ve used that for most of mainland Japan travel.

  2. I use either Didi or TaxiGO – both work well (I’m able to easily get a taxi from Nanjo to Naha without issues using these apps, when buses aren’t running). Also some major supermarkets like San-A have taxi telephones in their entrances, if you can speak Japanese.
