Hello, dear redditors!
I am a PhD in Economics (International Economic Relations) from Ukraine. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the culture of Japan, I studied a little bit of Japanese when I was a student. continue to be interested in this beautiful country and it’s culture even in my 30s.
As you know, there is a war in my country now. Due to my health condition, I am exempted from military duty.
My city is under daily artillery and rocket attacks so I moved to another one. There are also rocket attacks from time to time, but very rarely, and the artillery doesn’t reach this area).
Could you please suggest me any programs, internships which I could apply for study in Japan as a student or some advanced training. May be there are some kind of programs or grants for Ukrainians?
It doesn’t have to be economics or international economic relations. I am just as interested in the studying language, cultural studies, philosophy and art.
Perhaps such programs already exist, perhaps there are some new regarding Japan help for Ukrainians affected by the war? I’m interested in any info.
If you don’t have such information, perhaps you can tell me the best way to google such programs, or resource aggregators, where I can find some info for Ukrainians. I tried to google my self, but haven’t found anything.
Thanks for reading my post. I wish peace to your families and your countries.

At the moment, if you’re able to get to Japan you can apply for a 1 year (almost) no strings attached designated activities visa. Details here:

I’m studying in a language school, and i have several friends who are Ukrainian, if you want I could ask them how they got here. Even if you may take a slightly different path, since they’re all women in their early 20s with (presumably) no postgraduate degrees, they may know of programs, sponsors, scholarships, or something helpful.
Hi! I know Keio university offers help for students coming from Ukraine.
