Hi
I have a meaningful amount of stocks under my Japanese brokerage companies (Daiwa and MUFG Morgan Stanley). I have not traded with them after moving out of Japan, in order not to make taxes complicated.
Now that I am living in the US, I want to liquidate and sell. My tax advisor told me I should try to see if I can move the stocks to a US brokerage company so that I will only have to deal with US taxes.
Does anyone have experience in such cases?
Looks like Interactive Brokers can maybe do this, but can other bigger firms like Charles Schwab also do this?
I currently only have Robinhood for US brokerage. Any advice would be appreciated!
