1. Hello!

   I’m asking this here since I’m unsure how to word it for google so here-goes lol:

   Is there a point to learning grammer before having a grasp of the basic language sentences?

   For specific context I’m using Renshuu and I am currently on the “Pre-intermediate…(N4)” learning resources. This covers Pre-intermediate grammer, words, and sentences.

   My confusion stems from the fact that I’m having a (relativly) easy time with the words and sentences, but I’m absolutly struggling with the grammer. Every time I attempt it, it feels like I’m struggling to untie a knot in my head and it is incredibly hard to read a sentence through context clues because of it.

   So, again, my question stems from this. Is it worth powering through the frustration and learning grammer alongside everything else? Or should I get a better grasp of the language first, and then go back and learn grammer?

2. Hey guys, I was wondering if knowing which pronunciation is onyomi and which was kunyomi was neccessary?

   I’ve already learned the different pronunciation of many kanji but I havent been paying attention to which is kunyomi or which is onyomi. Is it worth learning or should I focus on other things?

3. Hello. What is the difference or nuance between いくつ目のNoun vs Nounは何+Counter, when asking how many of a thing there is?

4. context: someone is telling their 先輩 how microtransactions in video games work. The 先輩 is playing a game with such transactions. Then they are warned about the debt you can get into. Then they think:

   > 一回りも念下の子に心配されるとは。

   Does this mean something like, “For once, the juniors are worried about me.”

   I guess I was wondering mostly about 一回りも

5. A character in a book is explaining how microtransactions in video games work to another character, and I’m so confused by this reply:

   > 「リアルで、ですか？あ、ウェ○モネーのこと？」

   > 「よくわからんが、まあ、そんなところだ」

   “It’s real? A, ウェ○　money?”

   “I don’t know, ah, that kinda thing”

   What is ウェ○? Also on reddit the ○ seems small to me but looks big in the book.

7. People will sometimes HIGHLIGHT words like this in written English to add importance to a word of their choosing. Since Japanese doesn’t have uppercase or lowercase, what would be their equivalent of this? What would they use?

8. The ように below, is it the request/light imperative ように, kind of like an echo of the 想像してくれ in the sentence before?

   例えば山井。やつとは小学校からの腐れ縁. やつはでかくて四角くて切れやすくて、なぜか髪の毛が硬い。てっぺんに金色のワイヤーを一万本くらい突き立てた高さ百八十五センチの冷蔵庫を想像してくれ。**耳と鼻に開けたピアスを猛犬用のチェーンで結ぶのも忘れないように。**やつの戦績はおれの知る限り、五百戦四百九十九勝一敗というところ。とっておきの一敗についてはあとで話すよ。
