Hello everyone, I am a 17 year old who is considering moving to Japan to study either audio engineering or audio visual. I have proper experience doing studio audio mixing, live sound and backstage theatre audio so trying to find a job in the music/theatre industry in Japan is not the biggest concern for me. I am a Singaporean about to enlist in my national service in April so I will have 2 years before I will move to Japan to study. My JLPT level is currently at N5 and currently my goal is to reach JLPT N4 and getting ready for N3 by the end of my 2 years of enlistment, then move to Japan for 1 year of language school to reach JLPT N2 and then study audio engineering or audio visual in a proper school. My main concern is whether or not I will be able to reach JLPT N4 to N2 in a year as I wouldn’t want to spend more than a year in language school due to financial concerns. Should I aim for a higher a JLPT level before I move to Japan? or is my current plan realistic?
