Ohayou everyone!
I’m planning our fourth trip to Japan (second with kids) in the second week of May until the end of May and we have decided to hit Okinawa first to try that tropical life.
Naha is pretty much planned but we are now thinking what is best for the next bit as we had allocated 5 days for Ishigaki to stay/save by staying in an aparthotel, as opposed to the expensive resorts, and hit the beach/forests for those days.
What is on the back of my mind and a big reason for not booking anything yet was after looking at the weather info is out there for Ishigaki in May, that it is the wettest month. This means that our choices will be restricted if we do manage to get that sort of rainy weather and from what I can see there is really not much to do in the island if the weather turns sour.
I’m now debating skipping the island to fly back to Osaka earlier and head to Kinosaki Onsen (where we’ve been without the kids) to enjoy a more guaranteed relaxed time.
In short, the long winded report to ask you that have been there, what was Ishigaki like for you in the middle of May?
