Hey! 34M travelling solo for the first time to Japan and I’ve decided that I’ll be staying in Tokyo (Shinjuku) from Mar 10-25. Can’t wait!! I’ve read over the other places in Japan and while I understand how incredible and amazing other parts of Japan are from reading peoples experiences here, ultimately I ‘m a city guy and have always wanted to visit Tokyo. Love the nightlife and bright neon lights! May look at doing some day trips as well so please recommend any. Accomodation has already been taken care of so I’m going to spend money on food, shopping, travel (SUICA) and entertainment/attractions. I originally wanted to do the Mt Fuji hike but I’ve read that doing it in March is rather risky and/or dangerous so I’m opting out of that. Please have a look at my itinerary below and let me know if you recommend I shuffle things around (ie better in the evening vs day) or if I need to purchase something in advance. So far I’ve just bought the teamLab Borderless advance ticket. I failed at getting the Studio Ghibli museum tickets so that sucks. I forgot that I needed to purchase a ticket a month in advance on the 10th. I hopped online on the 11th and of course they were all sold out.
I’m trying to be as efficient as possible by visiting attractions/sites by district so I’m not constantly travelling. Also, aiming to do 2 (or maybe 3?) activities a day but I’m not super strict on the schedule and can add or drop places to visit. I’m there really to take in the nightlife, tech, food, shopping (souvenirs), experiences like DisneySea which I hear is a unique only in Japan.
Haven’t decided on what places to eat for dinner as I’m still researching it. Please recommend any as well.
