Hey all, I need your help identifying what this side dish is!
Background: I lived in Tainan, Taiwan for two years and there was this Japanese Katsu restaurant close to where I lived. My husband and I would order from there often and we found ourselves loving this little side dish. It’s brown, has a fresh crunch to it, often topped with sesame seeds, and we could never figure out if it was a vegetable or a stalk of some kind! I found some pictures of it from the restaurant.
I have been craving this and now I just more curious as to what I had been eating for the last to years haha. I would be forever grateful if anyone could tell me what this is. I circled in green what it is I’m talking about. Thanks a bunch!
