Tokyo Institute of Technology International Graduate Program (IGP) Application

Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone could share advice on the necessary content when sending an email to obtain consent from an academic professor for this program. From my understanding, I should include a basic introduction of myself, details of any previous projects, my CV, and a thesis proposal.

Do I even need a thesis proposal, and if so, does it have to align with the professor’s research interests? How closely related should it be? My thesis proposal will be about AI and Privacy. I’m curious about how detailed or comprehensive the proposal needs to be at this stage.

Also, is it advisable or acceptable to email multiple professors from different labs to increase my chances of finding a supervisor?

Thank you in advance!
