I will be studying an English-medium undergraduate program in Japan in coming April and there are some things I want to know about JASSO Scholarship. Does that scholarship specifically ask for your Japanese language proficiency? Some said you need to have N2 level proficiency for the scholarship, does it also apply for students in English-medium program? Also, I am curious about the essay topics they made us write, if there is an essay component in the application process. Coming from a lower-middle-class family, the scholarship’s monthly stipend of 48,000 yen would make a significant difference for me and I want to make sure that I’m well-prepared. Lastly, are there any other scholarships or grants that you would recommend looking into apart from JASSO? I want to explore all possible options to alleviate the financial burden of studying abroad. I’m grateful for any advice, tips, or shared experiences that you can provide!
