Hi, I’m considering signing myself and my girlfriend up for a 6 month course in a Japanese language school. I’ve looked at some schools and the average tuition cost seems to be around 500k JPY or around $3300 USD (targeting places like Kyoto or Osaka, definitely not Tokyo since it seems to be a lot more expensive). The purpose of this would not be to find work or move to Japan permanently (as we unfortunately don’t qualify) but mainly to experience our dream country for the first time and escape our horrible country and living situation for a while.
I have about $23k saved up. If we deduct 7k for the tuition and 3k for plane tickets, would 13k be enough to cover living expenses for 2 people for 6 months? If so, which places should we aim for?
