I have recently purchased a white plate car through a USS auction. I am trying to wrap my head around the transfer process and was wondering if anyone has experience with doing this in person or using the MLIT’s website. For reference, I am located in Gunma, the car has Shaken until June and is registered in a neighbouring prefecture.
From my searching, I have come across the MLIT’s One Stop Service website, which lists a “New used car registration” process that involves applying for a parking certificate/mark, ‘new used vehicle registration’ and automobile tax declaration. Is this the bulk of the process, meaning I would just have to then go swap numberplates? Or can this method not be used for vehicles from other prefectures? Or am I completely misunderstanding what it is?
