Yasumi nasai instead of “o-yasumi nasai”

Hello, I grew up with a Japanese father and in my childhood I remember him saying “yasumi nasai”when I would go to bed, but in my memories he says it without the “o” in the front. I honestly thought “Yasumi nasai” meant “good night” but after seeing in a textbook it said “oyasumi” and pronunciations online have the “o” sound very clear. So am I just misremembering how he pronounced it? Or is “Yasumi nasai” just like another way of saying “good night”
