I’m a 32 year old woman from Canada. My fiancé recently got offered a job in Tokyo and we’re seeing what kind of travel/moving assistance could extend to me.
We are ready to expedite our wedding if needed as being a married couple may make things easier. What are my options to travel there with him and be able to work locally? It seems that on a dependent VISA I am not able to work full time. Is it best to obtain a Teaching English VISA? I’ve heard of individuals going on a Teaching English VISA and doing that until they found jobs in their fields.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: Could I travel into Japan as a tourist, get married in Japan (our Canadian friends did this so I know it is doable) and then apply for a dependent VISA?
