I’m heading to Okinawa in next few weeks – haven’t booked the dates but I’m in dire need of a holiday / adventure / recovery.
I moved to Japan 4 months ago and it’s been an absolute rollercoaster. I’m a 36M and married, my wife has just started a new role so I’ll be solo tripping – I love to backpack, not too fussy, and mostly want to meet people along the journey.
I’ll be there for about a week. Would love your recommendations on things to do and would love to meet people if anyone from this subreddit lives there.

Naha is a wonderful and beautiful place. Great food, Okinawa castle, the habu sake brewery is cool too. But went there myself on business and unfortunately caught covid. I’m fine now it was awhile ago I’m just saying be careful while your out and about with the wife. Okinawa sweet potato snacks or so damn good, so make sure you get some.
