From Switzerland to Japan

Hello people,

I’m a retired person, which means I have income and possibility to live where I want. I’m frugal, and don’t need a lot.

I’m currently living in Switzerland, which is a very great country, but unfortunately, in a way lesser way, all the stuff that is happening and ruining Europe it’s slowly starting to appear in Switzerland as well.

It is still an incredible country, the best on paper, but I believe that Japan have something that is for me the most valuable thing, and therefore beats even Switzerland.

What is it? Well, it is the politeness of Japanese population.

I want to premise that I have lived for months in Japan, and then I would go back home and then repeat…and again.

I have just discovered how much more I love being surrounded by Japanese people and their politeness. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not naive. People in Japan are not some kind of Utopia. What I’m trying to say, is how beautifully they behave socially in their country, such a demonstration of humility and intelligence is amazing. I’m not even speaking of being friends with them.

I’m doing this post mainly to have a similar feedback with other people who do have similar feeling as me, someone who is able to enjoy this incredible Japanese politeness.

Can you share what do you love, what makes your life pleasant in Japan?

The other part of the post is about natural disasters. The things which makes me unwilling to come full time in Japan, are the natural disasters. Is it something affecting your daily life, are the quakes very common where you live? Does this probability of natural disasters take away your peace of mind?

Thanks!
