Itinerary Feedback

Itinerary 9 day

We are going to Japan at end of March-first time for me-my hub was born there and also stationed there in the Air Force. We are old but still are actively farming.

So, my plan has been to go to Kumamoto (birthplace) for two days via Shinkansen from Tokyo. Then, travel to Nagasaki for a day and Fukuoka, then Kobe to visit Himeji Castle and then to Kyoto Osaka, and finally back to Tokyo to do a Mt Fuji Day trip.

Is it a good idea to book tours for Kyoto as a whole day tour?

I had been planning to wing it till I read my dates were height of Sakura viewing. Now I’m afraid I’m going to have to return to really see anything at length in Kyoto.

So basically making a big loop and realize we are spending a lot of time moving around on the train. I think though with us being 65 and 74, it’s probably best to see as much as possible even if it’s short bits.

Any and all feedback appreciated.
