Hi, I’ve been employed part time on saturdays for the past 7 years at my company. Student numbers have dwindled a lot over that time. There are three teachers on Saturdays and because of the low student numbers the manager is deciding how to address the labor cost. They have asked 2 of us part time teachers to reduce our hours.
This would not be worthwhile for either of us.
My question is can an employer reduce our hours? From my understanding it’s difficult to change working conditions if it’s unfavorable to employees.
Any advice would help.
