My partner and I have wanted to move to Japan for some time, after visiting before (and planning another longer term stay of 1-2 months), and are now talking more seriously on the possibility in the near future.
I currently work within the games industry, mobile side, for the past 5 years. *NOT* in game design/development or software but rather in the marketing and product management side of things. I’m trying to see what the most realistic path is for me in this situation. In my case, would finding a job from a Japanese based studio willing to sponsor a visa unrealistic or would I be better off going the teaching route and trying to make my way back in from there? I’ve been browsing online job boards and a vast majority of games industry jobs call for artists, designers, and technical programmers. This is a similar case in the states but the pool of jobs for the marketing/product side of things seem significantly smaller.
