  1. I’m reading the Animal Crossing manga and Gulliver (ジョニー), ends his sentences with katakana, such as そうなんデス. No one else does that. Whats the deal? If it’s just a stylistic choice, what does the style imply?

  2. Just started learning なら/たら。I think im for the most part grasping it.
But identifying how their different is odd.

I feel like I should just think of なら as IF and たら as when & after. Thats the way ive been thinking about them.

if anyone would like to share some points that nails it down feel free.

  4. My brother went to Japan, and sent me some books.

Among them is 世界の終りとハードボイルド・ワンダーランド in two volumes. One labeled 上 and the other 下.

    Is 上 the first book?

  5. In this book I’m reading, someone’s coworker is calling them おまえ, is this normal or is it kind of a joke? It’s a silly book is why I’m asking.

I thought it was kinda not that nice to call someone that, but they don’t seem to be mad at each other either.

  6. my youtube advertisement experience for some 6 months have been an invasion of italki adverts. but yesterday, I received a JP advertisements that my JP friends sometimes get. not sure what that’s worth anything, but it certainly gave me some odd sense of pleasure seeing it.

  7. So I’ve finally decided to start learning Japanese as I’ve always wanted to be able to read it and understand it. I personally hate learning from textbooks and I’m always out places and don’t want to carry books around. so I really want to avoid that even though I heard the textbook Genki is good. I’ve found two online places I can use from my phone, one WaniKani and the other Japanese from zero. Which would you say would be better to actually use and learn from?
