I’m in my second year of japanese in university and we have to give short, one-minute speeches in class every few weeks on any subject of our choosing. We’re supposed to take our scripts to the Japanese tutor on campus to get the grammar checked before we present them in class, but I’m not available at any of the same times as the tutor, so I’m hoping y’all can help me out here. The speeches are allowed to contain some new vocabulary as long as we tell the class the new words before hand, but it shouldn’t a ton of new words. For reference, we’re currently on Genki lesson 14, so we still have pretty basic vocabulary. Just looking to make sure my grammar looks good and that I used all the words in the right context, I would be gracious for any help.
I’m currently a student teacher in the ed program and my speech is about that experience:
教える経験
今、\[name redacted\]高校で教えています。オーケストラーやバンドやピアノの授業があります。これまで、楽しくて良い経験でした。教室の至る所に色々な楽器があるから、教室はすごくごしゃごしゃだ。でも、それでも好きです。
全てのクラスにたくさん面白い学生がいます。すぐ高校のジャズ・バンドはステートジャズ競争で争うつもりです。彼らは音楽がめっちゃ上手だと思います。毎日毎日、学生たちは一緒に練習しています。彼らがこの経験を楽しんでくれることを願っています。
The very last sentence is supposed to say “I hope they enjoy this experience.” I didn’t know the grammar to make that sentence so I tried to look it up online and that was the best I could come up with. No idea if it’s correct or used in the right context. My Japanese isn’t very advanced yet so I’m sure this is filled to the brim with errors. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks y’all.
