I originally had this posted in Japan trips subreddit but it got taken down so I was hoping to find some help from here.
I want to travel to Japan for a couple months coming from the US. However I’m confused at what approach I should take as I work remotely and would like to continue working while I’m there (obviously to help pay for costs as I don’t have a ton saved up).
I’ve been checking a lot of sources and getting more and more confused. I’ve found that the US and Japan has preexisting income tax agreements, but I’m lost on how that may apply to travel. And I’ve also heard that they will be introducing a digital nomad visa this month as well, but there’s no telling how long it will take to properly set that up let alone get approved for it. The reason why I’m looking at visa’s is because I would also like to visit South Korea as well and want to avoid any mix up if I travel between the two countries. Do I even need a visa am I overcomplicating this?
I’ve traveled to Japan before but only for a few days, and have always wanted to go back for a longer stay. I studied abroad in Europe back in 2020, then COVID hit and we all know what happened. Now that I actually have an income I’m itching to travel again.
Also any advice on housing for this kind of trip would be appreciated!
