my question to those of you that have Apple Card and Apple Savings, is are you able to keep both of these accounts open while living in Japan? I will be on student visa first, and perhaps stay longer so I’m thinking of long-term or permanent solutions.
As a student, I will work part time and need to open a Japanese bank account. I want to take advantage of apple savings with its 4.5% apy and keep my proof of funds requirement for school in there (the around 4million yen requirement for visa). I also want to use my apple credit card since it’s too difficult to get a Japanese one, for daily transactions long term (take advantage of the 2% when on tap or refilling ic cards). my problem is paying for the Apple Card, I would need to transfer money to a US bank account and then pay off the card, which would take very long to process and incur fees. Is there a simpler solution to this? Anyone have their apple cards and savings long term in Japan?
On the other hand, if I don’t use my Apple Card for a long time, let’s say some years, but I have money in apple savings, will my Apple Card cancel due to inactivity?
