Hi! I’m looking for some ideas for our next trip and hope you can help!
We’re looking for a town to visit for 3+ days and relax. The top priorities are somewhere relaxed with stylish shopping and restaurants and a general nice vibe, with enough stuff to see nearby by public transit that we aren’t just stuck in town. The kind of place domestic tourists go on long weekends. Preferably lookng at Honshu and maybe the north parts of Kyushu or Shikoku.
We loved Onomichi and Karuizawa so far and those are perfect examples of the size and vibe we’re looking for. I’m considering returning to either of those, or other candidates are Kurashiki, Kiryu, or Matsumoto. Also considering Takayama, but it sounds it’s gotten really busy recently, so if you went there I’d love to hear how you thought of it.
Opinions on these choices or additional suggestions would be much appreciated. Would love any thoughts you can provide!
