Hello fellow travellers,
since I am going to Japan in April, I had a couple of questions. I have been to Japan twice before, last time was in April 2016.
This brings me to question no 1: We were in Matsumoto on the 9th of April 2016 and as we were leaving the castle to go back to the train station, we happened upon some kind of sake festival. I was wondering, if there was any more information about that and more importantly, is it planned in 2024? We were debating going to Matsumoto or Himeji castle (I have been to both, but on of my companions in this trip has only beeen to Matsumoto and the other one is a first time traveller) and this may tip the scales in favor of Matsumoto – Sake is just great!
No 2: Since I’m some kind of space nerd, I want to visit one of the Jaxa facilities and maybe get some of their merch. I looked through their website but it is a bit convoluted and not the most intuitive one. Since we are planning to travel quite a bit (3 week railpass) it doesn’t have to be in Tokyo.. any other city would probably be ok if there are other things to see as well.
No 3: My godson is obsessed with the shinkansen (I am too, it’s a nice train alright) and I was wondering, if there are any official shops to get something nice for him. I found the one in Fukuoka, but that’s way down south and we were not planning on going that far south on this trip.
