I have a friend whose son is living and working in Tokyo. It looks like he will be there for many years. He left an electronic piano at his mom’s house, in its case it’s about 5×3.5×2 feet and weighs about 185 lbs. My friend will be traveling to visit him in a couple of months, but she can’t seem to find any way to transport the piano. All the companies like Fedex and UPS have a 150 lb maximum, and the cargo companies charge for a huge container. United won’t take it as luggage because it’s too heavy.
