Hello! Complete new to investing in Japan as a US citizen. I was only recently aware about the US government requiring US citizens to report on NISA accounts. I was not aware because the account was opened by my husband. The account has been opened for about 2 years.
I’m debating whether to keep the account and report it this year when filing my US taxes OR should I close the account since I’ve read many comments here that it is not worth it. But does anyone know how much the US will tax on NISA accounts? And where I can find that information?
