15 Day Itinerary Check – Tokyo with sidetrips (First Time in Japan!)

Hi! I’m planning to go to Japan for the first time this November and I’ve been thinking non-stop with my planned itinerary for 15 days. Would love some suggestions or advice on what to change and tips on travelling (the commute and luggage)!

Day 1: Arrival
Tokyo Disney Resort (afternoon to evening)

Day 2: Shinjuku Area
Morning: Shimokitazawa district (maybe do some clothes shopping
Noon: Shinjuku Gyoen & Tokyo Metropolitan Gov’t Building
Afternoon to Evening: Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho, Golden Gai

Day 3 : Tokyo Imperial Palace area
Morning: Imperial East Gardens, Imperial Palace
Noon: Nihonbashi, Marunouchi
Afternoon to Evening: Ginza & Yurakucho dining

Day 4: Yokohama Day trip
Minato Mirai area and Harborside areas only with Chinatown!

Day 5: Shibuya area
Morning to noon: Meiji Shrine, Yoyogi Park, Harajuku area
Afternoon to evening: Shibuya area
(Optional: Gotokuji Temple)

Day 6: Asakusa area
Morning to noon: Sengakuji Temple, Institute for Nature and Shinagawa station
Afternoon to evening: Asakusa, Sensoji Temple, Tokyo Skytree & Sumida Aquarium

Day 7 : Kamakura daytrip
Morning to noon: Enoshima Island
Afternoon to evening: Kamakura area (only the popular spots)
* would like to ask if what recommended time to visit Enoshima Island

Day 8: Tokyo Bayside Area
Morning: Tsukiji Outer Market & Shiodomw District (for the Hama Rikyu Gardens)
Afternoon to evening: Odaiba area

Day 9: Ueno Park
Morning: Ameyoko and Ueno Park shrines and temples
Noon: Ueno Zoo
Afternoon to Evening: Tokyo Nat’l Museum and Museum of Science and Nature

Day 10: Nikko Daytrip
I opt to go an only walking tour around the famous shrines and temples there!

Day 11: Chou Line Districts
Morning to Noon: Kagurazaka District, Yasukuni Shrine, Koishikawa Korakuen
Afternoon to Evening: Ryogoku district (for the Sumida Hokusai Museum), Kanda and Akihabara districts and Tokyo Dome City (just want to see the lights there!)

Day 12: Roppongi
Morning to Noon: Ikebukuro (Sunshine City) and Rikugien Gardens
Afternoon to Evening: Tokyo Midtown, Roppongi Hills (for the Mori Art Museum and Art Triangle), Zojoji Temple (for a shot of the Tokyo Tower)

Day 13: Hakone (overnight)
I want to do the round course trip and stay overnight in a ryokan there but I think it will be tiring and costly. Is it recommended to just pay for a day trip tour?

Day 14 Fuji Five Lakes area
I only plan to tour the Lake Kawaguchiko area!

Day 15 Departure
Morning to Noon: Ghibli Museum, Meguro River and Daikanyama
Afternoon: Ebisu (for the Tokyo Photographic Museum) then checkout
Evening: Departure

That’s my not too detailed itinerary for now. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!
