a bit confused by this:

Ok so in the first part 山田 is being invited to go to this singles thing.
I don’t quite get his reply. “What’s sad, (you? we? someone?) has to go to a man and woman’s association”
Third part is he’s just thinking, he doesn’t wanna hear a bunch of middle-aged guys, and last part, the guy who invited him is like “dam, in that case a normal night of drinking it is”
