I (F22) have been dating my BF (23) since he did his exchange year at my university. Covid cut his plans short and he had to move back. During Covid he ended up graduating back home and got a job as a salaryman, I ended up doing a semester as an exchange student in Tokyo to live with him. I recently graduated and started working so I could have some job experience of my own before moving to Japan.
** now that I’ve added some context. I’m currently looking into potential options for me to go about moving to Japan.
– The first option would be the typical ALT/Eikaiwa track
– The second option would be to go back to school and get a masters in either Global Studies or TESOL (I’ve heard that the job market for TESOL is dying out in the US, so I’m not sure if I would like to pursue that option)
I’m just really conflicted on what would be the best way of going about this and if anyone has had a similar experience.
** I would like to add that I do have a minor in TESOL so in order for me to teach I would need to get a certification, but those are pretty easy to get online.
