Japanese National living & working in US buying a house

My husband and I would like to buy a house in Kyoto that we would live in 2-3 months a year (his father would live there occasionally as well). We put our kids in school in the summer and it’s a hassle to find and secure a rental every year in the specific location we want (we want kids at the same school and yochien). I am trying to understand if we could get a home loan, and if so what is the best way to go about it.

My husband and kids are Japanese nationals. My husband has always lived and worked in the US, he does have a Japanese bank account but we both work in the US. We make around 30百万 each, so we could buy outright but that’s not our preference. My understanding is banks won’t look at non Japanese income. Should we start depositing money into his Japanese account?

One thing to note, my husband has been living as a us citizen only (he’s dual by birth) so has never paid taxes in Japan, which I assume would need to change.
