So I have kids but haven’t gotten around to getting their passports and SSNs due to corona and other factors. I feel like I’m missing out on some tax benefits. I want to keep paying into my US vanguard Roth IRA but I can’t with FEIE it seems.
All my income is Japan based. Also my wife has zero interest in getting a U.S. ITIN if that matters. I know there is another way to file such as using the foreign house exclusion since I have a mortgage here as well.
