I’ve been asked recently what apps would make life easier in Japan for someone who comes here for work and speaks English but not Japanese.
I’m ancient so I was already here and already spoke Japanese when smartphones became a thing, so I’m more used to Japanese language phone ecosystem and their question put me at a loss for answers.
So far I have:
Google maps (for directions and norikae)
Go Taxi
NERV (for the quakes)
Paypay
And a mention of Line, in case they make Japanese friends it’ll be helpful for them to know it exists (whatsapp is the main messaging app where we’re from).
What am I missing? All suggestions are appreciated!
