Husband and I are going to Japan for two weeks (Tokyo-kanazawa-kyoto-osaka-hiroshima-tokyo) and I’m going to be 20-22wks pregnant. I’m showing already at 18wks and all my previous maternity clothes are out of season, so I’m wondering if there are cute maternity clothing stores I can check out to get some shirts/comfy pants for the journey but also to bring back? I’ll probably only be able to visit 2 or 3 stores so make your suggestions count!
About me:
5’2, 160lb currently. I think I can manage to find clothes that fit, might be a lg or xl. But maternity stuff I think I’ll have better luck. Everyone expands with a baby. Vividly remembering my US size 2 friend going into a Japanese h&m to find out she’s a Japanese large lol
I have an upper arm tattoo and a thigh tattoo. Preferably clothes that can cover those up for while I’m walking around, not to frilly in style.
Last time I was in Japan, a lot of the stores felt kind of reluctant to have you try things on. Would there be any issues if I asked to try on clothes? I can also visually size myself pretty well (I sew some of my own clothes) but w pregnancy it’s more of a crapshoot.
I know I can also order things on Japanese Amazon and pickup at a kiosk/locker thing. So if there’s specific product suggestions I’d be open to those too.
