Using the JR West website, this route came up.
Okubo —> Yoyogi —> Shinagawa —> Nagoya —> Takayama
We are trying to get to Takayama on the 3rd of April, from Okubo / Shin Okubo station in Shinjuku, with luggage. We want to get to Takayama before 12pm ideally
Main 3 questions are
1) Is there a better route from Okubo station? Anything with less transfers?
2) The Hida train does not show any option for luggage like the Train to Nagoya does.
Are you allowed to take 2 x luggage (both with total dimensions less then 250cm) onto the Hida train to Takayama?
3) Does the Sobu line and Yamanote Line trains in Tokyo allow luggage?
