Honeymoon Itinerary – 18 days

Hello, all. My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon and wanted to run our (very) rough itinerary by whomever is willing to look in the hopes of polishing it up. This will be my second time, and her first time visiting Japan, albeit I was very young when I last went. We will be visiting in early October, are both younger and are looking for a good mix of cities and smaller towns, to hopefully enjoy some nature.

The main goal of my post is more or less to avoid overdoing our travel plans. Of course, if you think there are better options please let us know as nothing is set in stone.

October 1 – Land in **Tokyo**, stay 3 nights

* Oct. 2: Shibuya District (Harajuku/Meiji shrine/Shinjuku garden)

October 4 – Travel to **Five Lakes Region or Hakone**, stay 2 nights

* Oct 4: Lake Kawaguchiko or Lake Ashi (if Hakone)
* Oct 5: Hike for views of Mt Fuji or Gora/Open Air Museum (if Hakone)

October 6 – Travel to **Kyoto**, stay 4 nights (include day trip to Nara)

* Oct 6: Fushimi Inari Shrine/Gion district
* Oct 7: Kinkakuji/Ryoanji zen rock garden/Kiyomizu-dera temple/Higashiyama district

* Oct 12: Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine/Harada Sake Brewery

October 15 – Travel to **Tokyo**, stay 3 nights

/Takeshita-dori
/Omotesando)

October 18 – Fly home

I am worried that with the day trips we are thinking of we would be doing too much traveling. The Takayama section of the trip is where we are debating if it would make sense to just go to one spot in its place with the thought of being able to unwinding/relaxing more.

Thank you for your help in advance.
